About Me
What a journey! My life has been an incredible journey with plenty of successes and failures and there is one common theme. “To God be the Glory!” God has always been there with forgiveness, guidance, direction, and healing. And now it is time to share that insight as to what God has done and is doing in my life. A couple of years ago I met with my Pastor and mentor Rev. Monty Wright and I was at a crossroads in my Information Technology career, sawmill business, and ministry. Before we got together he said lets both be praying that the Holy Spirit would give us a word and direction for me. When we got together he asked me what the Holy Spirit was saying to me and I responded enthusiastically wisdom. Pastor Monty was very moved said “Same with me!” and then he asked me what I planned to do with this and I responded by saying, oh I’m supposed to seek wisdom. He got a pained look on his face and said “no Sam, it is not so much that you need to seek wisdom, its that you already have wisdom and need to share that wisdom. He continued by saying, “when you committed your life to Jesus didn’t he call you into the ministry and didn’t you have an incredible experience at the Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle, you have received wisdom. Weren’t you a very successful youth pastor leading hundreds of young people to the Lord, many who today are in leadership positions in the church, you have received wisdom. You and Marty have been married over 40 years and have raised 7 wonderful children who have awesome spouses that have given you 20 grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters; you have wisdom. Oh and weren’t you married once before and that divorce had some consequences when you were getting ordained, you have wisdom. Haven’t you officiated at numerous weddings counseling couples on marriage and haven’t you counseled numerous couples that have had challenges in their marriages, you have wisdom. Didn’t you go through stage-four Non-Hodgins Lymphoma cancer and were totally healed of it, you have wisdom. And hasn’t your hair color turned from blonde to gray? And you know what Proverbs has to say about gray hair, you have wisdom. Sam, it is time for you to share that wisdom.” Oh yeah, I do have gray hair and plenty of experience in all those areas and yes I so want to share that wisdom. So we started to lay out a plan to develop my platform, launching this website that will have blog posts, podcasts, and video teaching on all of these areas in my life and a few other areas that I’m passionate about, like the topics of men, how to read and study the Bible, healing, church, etc.
Presently I am an ordained pastor on Special Assignment with the Rocky Mountain District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
